U13 Lake Simcoe Girls Take 1st Place In The LSSC Tournament
The Cyclones continue to impress with a home tournament win the weekend of Sept 8-9.
Competition was fierce as 12 teams in the Under 13 category were vying for top spot.
Our first game had us matched against a tough opponent, the Innisfil Stampeders. It was a nail biter finishing in a 2-2 tie.
The next 2 games were important to win to secure a spot in the semis. The 2nd game was against Pickering Power Gold and the Cyclones played a great game winning 1-0. Sunday Morning the girls were up early for an 8am game against Oshawa Turul. Again the girls came through with an awesome 1-0 win placing 1st in our division and 1st overall heading into the semis.
We played North Mississauga A in our semi final game winning 1-0. Girls were thrilled to be going to the finals Sunday afternoon.
The team was ready heading into the finals against Aurora A. The girls played an incredible game winning 2-0 earning a well deserved first place in the tournament.

Under 11 Girls Lake Simcoe Soccer Team Wins Sudbury Tournament!
The U11 Girls Lake Simcoe Red Devils Soccer team brought home the championship win from the Greater Sudbury Soccer Club Tournament held on July 27-29th.
The team played 3 games on Saturday July 28th. The 1st game was against “Greater Sudbury Rocks”. This was a tough match and the Red Devils tied this game 1-1. The 2nd game was against Barrie Spirit and the Lake Simcoe Red Devils won this game 5-0. The 3rd game was against the “Greater Sudbury Lady Lightning” and the Red Devils showed they can tough out the very hot summer heat of Sudbury and won this game with a score of 1-0.
Sunday morning saw the Lake Simcoe Red Devils fighting so hard for a semi-final win against the tough Greater Sudbury Rocks Team. The Red Devils tied the game during regulation time, which sent the game to 20 minute overtime. With the game still tied after overtime it forced both teams into penalty kicks which lasted 7 rounds with the Red Devils coming out on top!
The championship game saw the girls go up against the undefeated “Sault Civics” from Sault Ste. Marie. This match was a nail biter for everyone watching. There were some hard refereeing calls but the girls wanted this win so bad it didn’t bother them.
During the last 10 minutes of play the Lake Simcoe Red Devils put one past the undefeated goalie in the back of the net for the exciting Championship win. Coach Tyler James said, “The girls came together and played very strong this weekend and fought hard for this championship win. This has been the highlight of the season for our team and the coaching staff. We are very proud of the girls”.
The Lake Simcoe Red Devils U11 girls and coaching staff want to thank all the sponsors for their support. The last tournament of the season will be at the Georgiana Civic fields at the ROC on September 8 and 9th.
Lake Simcoe FC U13B continue to Impress with 2nd Place finish in the Whitby Iroquois Tournament.
Recently the U13 Boys Rep Soccer Team - Lake Simcoe FC competed in the Whitby Iroquois Tournament in Whitby, ON.
After the first round games, Lake Simcoe FC was ranked #1 in their division not allowing a single goal. In the Semi Finals the team would explode for 3 goals and go into the Championship game without allowing a goal against.
Lake Simcoe FC would eventually lose in the Finals against a tough UMSC team.
It was a great tournament for the 3rd year team and a step closer to their first tournament win.
Lake Simcoe U13G Cyclones Win the Frank Sobil Spring Classic Tournament in Oshawa
The Cyclones began the season with an impressive tournament win on the weekend of May 5th and May 6th.
A first game win against the Belleville Comets 1-0 on Saturday morning gave the team momentum going into our 2nd game against King City United. Both teams played a great game but the win went to King City 3-1. Bright and early Sunday morning, a determined Cyclones team played against the Darlington Phoenix with our girls winning 1-0. We then had to await the other teams to complete their games to find out if we were moving on to the semis.
By 11:30am we were declared the division winners with 2 wins and 1 loss. Our semi-final was played against Byron Blaze with the Cyclones winning 1-0.
The final game had the girls matched up against Oshawa Kicks Force with both sides aiming for the top prize giving us the fans and coaches an extremely well played game to watch. Again our girls came through with a well deserved 2-1 win taking 1st place in the tournament out of 12 teams.
Both coaches and parents could not of been prouder of the excellent team effort displayed by the Cyclones. Congratulations girls!

Lake Simcoe U13B FC Represent at the Orangeville Stormfront Tournament
Recently the U13 Boys Rep Soccer Team - Lake Simcoe FC competed in the Orangeville Stormfront Tournament in Orangeville ON. The tournament included 15 very strong teams from Southern Ontario.
After the first round games, Lake Simcoe FC was ranked #2 after posting a 3-0-1 record. 4-1, 1-1, 6-0 and a 2-1 victory over a tough Barrie Team. Lake Simcoe FC would eventually lose in the Semi Finals.
It was a great tournament and a huge accomplishment for the 3rd year team.

Congratulations to the team and Mitch (Goalie) who received 4 "Man of the Match" awards in 6 games.
Congratulations Lake Simcoe Fury
The Lake Simcoe Fury women’s team capped off a very successful season by capturing the Women’s Division One Championship of the York Region Senior Soccer League. The Fury finished the season with an impressive 11-3-4 record, scoring 51 goals – the best in the league. In capturing the championship, the Fury have been promoted to the Premier Division for next season.

Lake Simcoe Cyclones take 2nd in the Heart of York Summer Classic Tournament!
During the blazing hot August 6 & 7 weekend, the Lake Simcoe Cyclones showed that Down does not mean Out. Losing their first game by a slim margin (1-0) against home team Newmarket United A, the Cyclones battled back in full force to beat London teams Norwest Menace (2-1) and Blue Devils (2-1) to advance to the semi-finals, where they triumphed against Barrie Spirit B (3-1) to move on to the final game, again facing Newmarket United A. After an extremely well played game, they caught a couple of unlucky breaks and lost 2-0, but parents and coaches could not have been prouder of the excellent team effort displayed by the Cyclones!
Special thanks to Head Coach Mike; Assistant Coaches Chris & Dave; Managers Nonna and Paula, and, of course, the Lake Simcoe fans, guaranteed loudest cheering section everywhere we go!
