All-Star Program
The purpose of the All-Star Program is to increase the skill level of the players and to develop coaches to prepare both for the transition to the Lake Simcoe Soccer Club Rep Team program. Teams will only be created for age divisions where a coach has been approved and assigned. Tryout dates for those age divisions will be announced once the season has started.
Coaches will not be appointed until after the house league season has begun. All-star coaches will need to get their coaching levels through the OSA coach’s technical clinics.
All house league players will be scouted and the teams will not be chosen until the house league season has started. Players will play on both their house league team and the All-Star team. All-Star players will be available as call-ups for the Rep Team.
The All-Star team does not take precedent over the House League team, with the exception of weekend House League practices that can be missed for an All-Star tournament. All games for House League must be attended before any All-Star team function is attended. In this case House League will be the first priority.
All-Star teams are encouraged to practice with the rep teams as much as possible and get in at least one to two exhibition games against the rep team during the year.
All-Star teams should plan on entering up to a maximum of three tournaments during the season. These tournaments will give the players an opportunity to play at a higher level than they do with their house league teams. All players will receive equal playing time during these tournaments.
There will be additional fees with playing with an All-Star team for items such as jersey’s and tournaments. The coaches will provide parents with this information up front.
